
The Blevins School District Board of Directors met on June 8 in the school cafeteria to discuss district business, receive reports, and recognize student accomplishments.
During the meeting, board members reviewed the district’s financial status and discussed several items of ongoing business, including a current school board vacancy. District officials reported that notification procedures will be completed in accordance with Arkansas School Boards Association policy.
Board members also reviewed policy updates, discussed the district’s attendance bonus program, and received information regarding recent storm damage to district facilities. Administrators provided updates on insurance claims and the process for repairing affected property.
The Board received a curriculum update from Curriculum Coordinator Ms. Reeder and learned that the district continues to meet all state accreditation requirements, remaining in good standing.
Student achievements were highlighted during the meeting. The Board recognized two graduating seniors for their postsecondary athletic commitments. One student signed with Southern Arkansas University to compete in track and field, while another signed with SAU Tech to play basketball.
Board members also discussed upcoming professional development opportunities available throughout the summer.
The meeting concluded with an executive session to discuss personnel matters before adjournment later in the evening.
