Blevins School Board Addresses Financial Matters and District Business

The Blevins School Board met in regular session on July 13, approving several financial and operational items while reviewing upcoming plans for the 2026-2027 school year.
Board members approved the June regular and special meeting minutes, along with the June financial report. The board also approved moving funds from the Ambassador Club to the Class of 2026 to help cover expenses.
During the meeting, members reviewed projected revenue changes for the 2026-2027 school year and referred a current school board vacancy to the Hempstead County Quorum Court for further action.
The board unanimously approved transferring $309,000 to the district’s Building Fund and approved renewals for the district’s property and vehicle insurance. Members also approved the Southwest Arkansas Education Service Cooperative Representative Resolution.
Additional action included approving a $7,821.80 quote for Great Minds instructional materials and adopting revisions to the Student Handbook. Discussion regarding enrollment was postponed for a future meeting.

Board members also acknowledged the upcoming Tri-State Southern Region Leadership Conference scheduled for July 19 in Hot Springs. The meeting concluded with an executive session to discuss personnel, after which the board approved the personnel recommendation in open session before adjourning at 7:26 p.m.
