Southwest Arkansas Regional Medical Center celebrates second anniversary

HOPE – Southwest Arkansas Regional Medical Center (SWARMC) is celebrating its second
anniversary on September 19, 2026, marking two years of continued service to the people of Hempstead
County and surrounding areas.

Over the past two years, SWARMC has continued to stabilize, adapt and strengthen its role in providing
healthcare to patients and families throughout Southwest Arkansas. The anniversary provides an
opportunity to reflect on how far the hospital has come and recognize the many people who have helped
make that progress possible.

SWARMC extends special appreciation to Jamie Pafford-Gresham and Ben Gresham, along with the City
of Hope, Hempstead County and local leaders who came together during a critical time to preserve the
hospital. Their commitment to local healthcare has made it possible for SWARMC to remain open and
serve the people of Southwest Arkansas over the past two years.

The anniversary is also a time to recognize the dedicated team members who make the hospital’s work
possible every day. From providing compassionate care to patients to supporting hospital operations
behind the scenes, each team member plays an important part in serving patients and families throughout
the region. This week, team members will be celebrated with cake and special activities at the hospital.
“Reaching our second anniversary is an important milestone for our hospital, and we are grateful for
everyone who has been part of this journey,” said Heather Hornbuckle, Chief Nursing Officer. “We are
incredibly thankful for the leadership and commitment that has made it possible for SWARMC to continue
serving our region. We are also grateful for our dedicated team members and for the continued support
we receive from the community.”

The past two years have demonstrated the importance of local support for healthcare. The strong support
from Hempstead County residents, including the passage of the hospital’s proposed sales tax in June
2026, reflects the value the community places on having access to healthcare close to home. SWARMC
is grateful to the patients, families, businesses and community members who continue to support the
hospital and its team.

As SWARMC celebrates two years, the hospital remains committed to providing quality healthcare
to the people of Hempstead County and continuing to grow alongside the communities it serves.
