
James Edward “Jim” Barry, 91, of White Hall went to be with the Lord, Saturday, April 4, 2026. He was born September 15, 1934, in Forrest City to George William Barry and Frances Bass Barry.
Jim was raised and educated in Forrest City, then attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. After graduation, he started working as a bacteriologist for the Pine Bluff Arsenal and then worked for NCTR, retiring after close to 40 years. Jim loved hunting, fishing and woodworking. He built a shop and greenhouse and would make fishing rods as well as a lot of his other equipment for fishing. Jim also enjoyed photography. He was a member of Hardin Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Rowe Barry, whom he married August 29, 1958; sons, Jon Barry (Margaret) and Steven G. Barry (Cindy); grandchildren, Jessica Nazarova (Ilya Nazarov), Alyssa Barry, Erin Barry, Joseph Barry and Hannah Barry; and great grandson, Gregory Nazarov.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and brothers, George William Barry II and David Hale Barry.
Funeral service will be 3:00 PM, Thursday, April 8, 2026, at Robinson and Fuller White Hall. Clarence Fell and Johnny Taylor will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday 2:00 PM until service time. Graveside service will be 2:00 PM, Friday, April 10, 2026, at Forrest Park Cemetery near Forrest City.
