Friends of NRA banquet Sept. 30
PRESCOTT – Supporters of the Second Amendment of the American Constitution need to mark their calendars for the annual Piney Woods Chapter of the Friends of the NRA Banquet.
This year’s banquet will be held on Sept. 30 at the Potlatch Building. Tickets are still available and can be purchased by calling Brandon Stewart at 870-331-9975; Brenda Williams at 870-703-0271; or Haskell Morse at 870-703-2403. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for an evening of food, raffles and fun. All proceeds will be used to help fund school shooting sports in the area as well as ensuring the survival of the Second Amendment.
The 2017 “Gun of the Year” is a Daniel Defense M4 carbine V7 5.56 NATO rifle. This weapon would make an excellent addition to any gun collection as it is engraved and has the custom NRA serialization.
This year’s “early bird” gun is a Century Arms 9 mm semiautomatic handgun. Those interested in having a chance at this weapon need to purchase a raffle pack or table and get up to eight tickets for the opportunity to win.
Other sponsorship opportunities also exist. The Liberty level, at $300, includes a Case knife with presentation box, “Traditions” magazine and a sponsor hat. The Heritage level, $750, comes with the choice of a Liberty safe HDX-250 handgun smart vault safe or a Yeti Roadie 20 tan cooler with Friends of the NRA logo. The Freedom level, $1,500 comes with the option of either a Kimber Micro 9 two-tone 9mm, Kel-Tec CMR030 .22 WMR rifle with 30 round magazine; or an Uberti 1873 single-action Cattleman Steel new model Colt .45. The Pioneer level, $2,500 brings the choice of a Colt 1911 9mm competition pistol or a Kimber Model 84L Classic 30-06 rifle. The Patriot level, $5,000, will have the choice of a Winchester Model 73 short high grade .357/.38 special, Colt Marine .45 ACP; Kimber Custom II Warrior SOC 1911 .45 ACP, or Remington UMC Commemorative 1911 with a reproduction leather holster, lanyard, magazine pouch and two-tone magazines.
Those attending will also have the chance to take home some NRA exclusives. These include a Colt Competition 1911 .45 ACP, Kimber K6sTM .357 magnum revolver, Henry Big Boy silver lever action .44 magnum rifle, Sig Sauer P320 9mm compact, Kel-Tec PMR-30 .22 magnum pistol, a Cricket .22lr rifle and more.
There will also be a silent auction at the banquet with plenty of items to choose from.
Other packages available include: the $100 big shooter package, which comes with dinner, a $100 raffle pack and one chance at the early bird gun; the super shooter package, for $250, which has two dinners, a $250 raffle pack and the choice of a Yeti 65 qt. cooler, Henry survival .22 rifle or Kel-Tec 9mm; $600 table of eight, with eight dinners, eight chances on the early bird gun and the choice of a Smith and Wesson M&P Shield 9mm, Remington 783 60-06 with scope or Moss Deer/Tky camo 12 gauge shotgun; the $1,250 table of eight, with eight dinners, eight chances at the early bird gun, and the choice of a Diamondback DB15 .300 blackout, Kimber .45 pro carry 2, UltraCarry 2 or Custom two two-tone or a DPMS Oracle 223/5.56; and the $2,000 table for eight, with eight dinners, eight shots at the early bird handgun and the choice of a Ruger 6.5 Creedmore Precision rifle or .308 Precision rifle.
